Folding Early
When you play Texas Hold ‘Em poker, the nuances of the game can be overwhelming, especially if you’re just starting out. You have to pay attention to your opponents, to the cards on the poker online table, the chips in their stacks, the chips in the pot, their betting patterns and personalities, and so on. Throw in the amount of deception that factors into each hand, and you may just want to throw in the towel. The key to sticking out your first few games is knowing some good basic strategy to keep you in the games long enough to learn a thing or two.
One thing to keep in mind is the danger of the early position in poker. You want to play very few hands in the early position. Many players will call from the early position if they feel that a hand is worth a blind, but that’s usually just a waste of a blind. If you play anything less than a premium hand in the early position, the chances are you’ll get raised before you get a chance to see if the flop will do you any good. You will end up folding a lot, but money saved is money earned. And money earned will translate into money won, which we all know is much sweeter than money earned.
