My Friend
I had a roommate back in college who spent more money than Paris Hilton on things he certainly did not need. He would buy video game systems, new clothes, food at expensive restaurants.
But he wasn’t working at all. And his parents were not only poor, they were only a few years out from living in a trailer park.
So I asked him one day why he was spending so much money. Or, at the very least, where he was getting it since I knew he wasn’t working and he definitely was not doing anything shady on the side.
He said that he was spending the money on his credit cards.
I asked him why, since he will need to pay them back and he doesn’t have a job and enough loans from school that to consolidate student loans would be a joke. His answer was so sad it was hilarious. Apparently he had his own personal debt solution. It was to:
Move to
Come back and Join the Army for 2
According to him, if you did those two things you get your debt removed. It didn’t take long for him to learn that that was patently false, but by then we had already kicked him out for missing a rent payment.
